Our design process is built around you — your style, your space, your lifestyle, and your budget. From the first conversation to the final placement, our Design Consultants provide hands-on support at every stage. Here's how it works:

Every great room starts with a conversation. Your Design Consultant will get to know how you live, what you're drawn to, and what your space needs to feel complete. Whether you gravitate toward coastal Lowcountry charm, clean modern lines, warm rustic textures, or something all your own, we'll help you define a direction that feels authentically you.
2. Explore Your Options
With 48,000 square feet of showroom space and access to over 75 trusted brands, FWDG gives you the selection to bring any vision to life. Your Design Consultant will guide you through furniture, fabrics, colors, finishes, and accent pieces — curating options that work together and fit your space. If you don't find exactly what you're looking for on the floor, we can also place custom orders to get the perfect piece.
3. Select Colors, Fabrics & Finishes
This is where your room really comes to life. Our Design Consultants help you navigate the choices that can feel overwhelming on your own — from upholstery fabrics and wood tones to accent colors, throw pillows, lighting, and decor. We bring years of experience and a trained eye to every selection, so you can feel confident that everything will work beautifully together.

FWDG offers one complimentary in-home consultation so your Design Consultant can see your space firsthand. They'll take measurements, assess lighting and layout, and help you visualize how everything will come together before you make a single purchase. Is the design consultation really free?
Yes — completely free. There's no fee for working with our Design Consultants, including the in-home consultation. It's part of the FWDG experience.
Do I need an appointment?
Walk-ins are always welcome, but we recommend calling ahead at 843-891-1060 if you'd like to schedule time with a specific Design Consultant or arrange your free in-home visit.
How long does the design process take?
It depends on the scope of your project. A single-room refresh might come together in one visit, while a full-home furnishing plan may involve a few consultations. Your Design Consultant will work at your pace.
Do I have to buy everything at once?
Not at all. Many of our customers furnish their homes in phases, starting with the most important room and building out over time. Your Design Consultant can help you create a plan that works with your timeline and budget.
Can I bring photos or inspiration images?
Absolutely. Photos of your space, Pinterest boards, magazine clippings, fabric swatches — anything that helps us understand your vision is welcome and encouraged.
What if I don't know what my style is?
That's exactly what we're here for. Our Design Consultants will ask the right questions and walk you through our showroom to help you identify what resonates. You don't need to have it all figured out before you walk in.
Does FWDG offer custom orders through the Design Center?
Yes. If you can't find the exact piece on our showroom floor, our team can help you place a custom order with your preferred fabrics, finishes, and specifications.
Can you help furnish a vacation home or rental property?
Yes. We work with many homeowners who are furnishing vacation properties, Airbnbs, and rental homes throughout the Lowcountry. Our team can help you make smart, stylish choices that hold up to high-traffic use.
